Alcorn’s online master’s degree in biology ranked number two on OnlineU’s Most Affordable Online Colleges

One of Alcorn State University’s online master’s degree programs is being recognized for its affordability.

The University's Master of Science in biology ranks number 2 on OnlineU.com’s 2020 Most Affordable Online Master's Degrees in Biology list. Alcorn is the only Mississippi HBCU ranked on the list.

To be considered for OnlineU’s subject rankings, schools should be regionally or nationally accredited and offer at least one fully online degree in a given subject for the degree level of the list.

OnlineU manually researches and reflects the lowest tuition rate available at the specified degree level. Out-of-state tuition is used unless in-state tuition is offered to all online students.

Alcorn eliminated out-of-state tuition fees for non-resident students back in 2015. The University offers a single flat tuition rate for all resident and non-resident students. Tuition yearly costs are published that apply to each semester during the academic year. Separate costs are published for the summer terms. Graduate students are permitted to enroll in a maximum of 12 semester hours during the academic year and six (6) hours per summer term. Registration will be available on June 1.

OnlineU has been publishing rankings of online colleges since 2014 and awarding scholarships since 2010. The website prides itself on thorough research and fair assessment of all available online programs to help students make educated decisions when choosing an online degree.
