Greetings Colleagues,

The 8th Membership Meeting is just two months away! Have you registered?

This is our time to celebrate, reflect and network.  The HBCU Library Alliance is transforming, positioning as a voice of advocacy for member institutions.

I hope you will join us on Sunday, October 7, 1:00 - 5:00,  for the Fundraising Strategies for HBCUs pre-conference.  Board member Debbie Hess Norris and Conservation Center for Art and Historic Artifacts Director of Development Lee Price are presenting the session.  Take-aways include an introduction to the art of effective grant writing and suggestions to leverage fundraising success to achieve even greater success and visibility for the HBCU community.

Wanda Brown, North Carolina Central University, and the American Library Association's 2018-2019 President-Elect, will bring greetings and remarks from ALA.

As you recall, the HBCU Library Alliance partnered with the University of the Delaware on a summer internship project.  Five undergraduate students were awarded eight-week fully-funded internships at conservation/preservation sites around the country.  The Library of Congress also participated and funded an undergraduate intern. I'm excited to share that planning is underway for two students to share their internship experience at the Membership meeting.

If you have't done so, click herehttp://www.hbculibraries.org/meeting-2018-info.html for Membership meeting registration and session details. I look forward to seeing you in Atlanta.

Much more to come, stay tuned!

Respectfully,

Sandra
