Accelerated Summer Courses Offered to Non-Cheyney Students Online & on Campus
College students can make the most of their summer time, boost their GPA and build up some credits for required courses through Cheyney University's "CU in the Summer" offerings. In addition, non-Cheyney students can also take the five-week-long classes whether they are pursuing a degree at another university or just looking to take a course that interests them.
There is still time to register for the second summer session which begins July 6 and runs through August 6.  Most classes are either offered online or take place at Cheyney's Center City Philadelphia location at 701 Market Street.  A handful of classes take place on CU's suburban campus in Cheyney, PA.
The online classes can be taken anywhere, anytime, at the convenience of the student. Most onsite classes in Center City are scheduled weekday evenings to allow time for students to work a job and complete their course work.  The Center City campus is conveniently located near City Hall and public transportation.
A variety of courses are offered in the accelerated sessions including languages, business, sciences, music, art and psychology.  All courses are taught by Cheyney University faculty. Credit for many summer classes is available for transfer to other universities.  The first summer session runs from May 26 to June 25.
Cheyney, the nation's 1st HBCU, has been educating students since 1837.  It offers accelerated winter classes over the holiday break, the Keystone Honors Academy, the Call Me Mister teaching program, the Aquaculture Research and Teaching Laboratory, and the accredited Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management program.
