LINCOLN UNIVERSITY OFFERS NEW EQUIVALENCY EXAM
HiSET(tm) replaces GED(r)

Jefferson City, MO- Lincoln University serves as a testing facility for a new high school equivalency exam.  The university now offers the HiSET(tm) program, which was adopted by the state of Missouri in January 2014.  The HiSET will replace the GED(r).

The HiSET was developed by Educational Testing Service (ETS).  The exam offers more accessibility and affordability to test takers, which includes free test prep and two free retests within a 12 month period.  There are five subtests of the HiSET: Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.

Missouri is currently one of ten states to offer the HiSET.  Those wishing to test in Missouri should meet the following requirements: must be a Missouri resident; must be at least 16 years old and have completed at least 16 units toward high school graduation; and must present proper identification on test day such as a valid driver license, U.S. passport or U.S. military ID.  Requirements for test takers may vary slightly by state.

To schedule an appointment to take the HiSET exam, log on to http://hiset.ets.org/test_takers and click on the Find Test Centers and Schedule an Exam box.
