A searchable D-space database was created for archives to store faculty, staff and students' research projects.  Individuals who have federally funded research projects will be encouraged to utilize the service to preserve their research materials. The D space programming will permit faculty members to upload and update their files as needed.

Tom Flynn, associate director for special collections is meeting with known faculty researchers explaining the program to them and how using the service will benefit their research and writing.

A steering committee will be formed in the fall and guidelines for submitting documents and resources should be available by the end of the fall semester.

Good morning:

Thanks to those who have responded thus far, we have heard from about 15 of you.  (Results: 5 institutions are in early stages of planning and conversations,  and the remaining (10) indicating "no" activity at this time)
If other directors/deans wish to respond, please do so.  Your reply is helpful.

Have a great day.
