What's the Hype with Social Media?
Tuesday, November 19, 10:00 ET

Abstract

Social Media usage is no longer an optionable strategy for businesses - including colleges and universities. This network offers a plethora of benefits, as it allows organizations to gain the attention of more people and potential clients.

The goal of this presentation is to share how the usage of social media networks can positively affect our HBCUs. As online communities are making a significant rise, it is our responsibility to ensure that we understand the best methodology and delivery to engage our target audience.

In this training, we will explore how social media enhances brand commitment, not only for present and future clientele, but also for alumni. We will explain the options available to HBCUs and how to utilize these platforms to build relationships, to connect the "new" with the "old", to foster a community of oneness and to create opportunities to be more "social".

Learning Outcomes

At the conclusion of this session, attendees will be able to

  1. Identify, integrate knowledge and analyze the available social media networks.

  2. Understand how to grow a social media platform.

  3. Increase engagement of a target audience.
