School of Business Student Honor Society Earns National Distinction
The Beta Gama Sigma (BGS) academic honor society at North Carolina Central University School of Business has received the Highest Honors chapter award for 2019-2020 from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB).
The Beta Gamma Sigma organization is only available to universities that have AACSB accreditation.  Becoming a member of the organization is the highest academic recognition a business student attending an AACSB accredited institution can receive.  The purpose of BGS is to encourage and honor academic achievement in the study of business and to foster personal and professional excellence among its members.
The BGS Global Headquarters staff and the UNC Board of Governors both recognized NCCU's BGS chapter for its members' hard work and dedication to the organization. Qualifying for the Highest Honors recognition is indicative of a campus where academic excellence is highly valued and where chapter officers work diligently to enhance BGS's stature on campus
"As an AASCB accredited institution Beta Gamma Sigma is one of our most valued honor associations," said Anthony Nelson, Ph.D., Dean of the School of Business.
"Time and time again our students have proven that an NCCU Business education and BGS association membership will provide them with the toolkit, network and opportunity to be immediate contributors to the global business landscape. Congratulations to the entire BGS membership team for this well-deserved recognition."
This recognition of NCCU's BGS chapter will appear on the BGS website, at BGS events, and in publications, such as the Recognition of Excellence program at the AACSB's International Conference & Meeting and other AACSB events.
