DSU Breaks Enrollment Record Again -- 4,644 Students!
For the fifth consecutive year, Delaware State University has broken its enrollment record with a fall semester 2014 total enrollment of 4,644 students - which marks the first time the institution has gone over the 4,600 threshold.
The record 4,644 enrollment surpasses the previous record of 4,505 set in the fall of 2014. The 2014 enrollment figures include a record 4,259 undergraduates - marking the first time DSU has surpassed 4,200 undergraduates.
The University enrolled 894 new freshmen this fall.
DSU President Harry L. Williams noted that the average grade point average of incoming freshmen was 3.08 - the highest ever in the history of the institution.
"That makes the record enrollment particularly satisfying," Dr. Williams said. "As the student population continues to increase, the academic quality of our new freshmen continues to rise as well."
