Monika Rhue, Director of Library Services and Curation, is appointed by Governor Roy Cooper to serve as a member of the North Carolina State Historical Records Advisory Board. Mrs. Rhue will support the work of the central advisory body for historical records coordination within the State and for the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC). In addition, Mrs. Rhue will offer assistance, advice, and consultation to State, county, and municipal governments, historic sites, museums, historical societies, and other institutions holding records of historical value concerning the care, preservation, and management of their records. This is a three year appointment.
It is an honor to receive this appointment to continue the work of serving
organizations in North Carolina towards preserving American History.
This appointment compliments my work at Johnson C. Smith University and my active role in documenting and preserving the University’s history and theAfrican American history in Charlotte, North Carolina.
