ASU to Celebrate President's Weekend
A weekend celebration is planned in observance of Alabama State University's President's Weekend, including the annual black-tie President's Gala.


Alabama State University has planned an exciting series of activities in celebration of its President's Weekend July 20-22.
"The entire point of the weekend is celebration," said Danielle M. Kennedy, vice president of University Relations. "We are celebrating the leadership of ASU and their efforts that have led to the phenomenal growth and transformation that is underway."

From a black-tie President's Gala to the First Lady's High Tea, the weekend festivities will offer friends and supporters an opportunity to come together for fun and fellowship, all in support of this great institution.

Friday - July 20, 2012
President's Roundtable
Hear from current and former ASU presidents about their experiences and accomplishments at the greatest level of University leadership.
Time: 10 a.m.
John L. Buskey Auditorium
Dedication of Harris Way
Hall Street on the ASU campus, from Carter Hill Road to the Interstate 85 Overpass, will formally be dedicated as Harris Way, in honor of ASU President William H. Harris.
Time: Immediately following President's Roundtable
Hall St. (Harris Way)
President's Gala
The President's Gala is a black-tie affair held to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the University's alumni, community partners and benefactors, as well as to raise funds for the University's various programs and activities.
Time: 7 p.m.
Location: Dunn-Oliver Acadome
Attire: Black Tie
Tickets: $150
Saturday - July 21, 2012
First Lady's High Tea
This event is a wonderful occasion to honor ASU's first ladies who have supported their husbands during their times of leadership at this great institution. The event also will celebrate women in various levels of leadership.
Time: Noon
Location: J. Garrick Hardy Student Center Ballroom
Tickets: $30
Saturday - July 21, 2012
Traditional Worship Service
ASU will conclude the President's Weekend celebration by joining members of St. John's A.M.E. Church for a traditional worship service.
Time: 10:30 a.m.
Location: St. John's A.M.E.
