Jackson appointed as interim director of internal audit
Tuskegee University President Gilbert L. Rochon appointed Natasha Jackson as interim director of internal audit of the university. Jackson most recently served as finance manager for the human resources division of Aflac Insurance. In this role, she provided financial oversight of HR practices and systems to ensure that processes were in place to decrease exposure to federal and external audit findings. She also worked closely with senior management in providing trend analysis and management of a budget in excess of $100 million.
Jackson received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Hawaii Pacific University and a master's degree in business with a concentration in accounting from Auburn University in Montgomery. She is a certified public accountant in the states of Alabama and Florida.
Jackson is a seasoned professional with more than 10 years of experience in financial services, insurance, and the non-profit and educational accounting sectors. Jackson has served on the finance board for non-profit organizations such as Big Brothers and Big Sisters, United Way and Family Guidance. She has also served as an adjunct finance professor for the University of Phoenix.
Prior to her position with Aflac, she served as assistant vice president and comptroller with Capital One (Columbus, Ga.) and assistant controller for VyStar Credit Union (Jacksonville, Fla.).
