Coahoma Takes Top Awards at Innovate 2019

The Coahoma Community College Office of Communications and Marketing recently won six awards at the College Public Relations Association of Mississippi (CPRAM) Innovate 2019 Conference held in Ridgeland, Miss. on May 20-21.

Coahoma placed and was awarded in the following categories:

  • First Place: New Media/Social Media - Junior Division - "Home for Summer? Year-Round Pell Ad"
  • First Place: Sports Media Guide - Junior Division - "CCC 2018 Homecoming Media Guide"
  • First Place: Single Piece of Artwork - Sports - Junior Division - "CCC 2018 Football Schedule"
  • First Place: Brochure - Junior Division - "WCQC Sponsorship Brochure"
  • Second Place: Television Spots - Junior Division - "Coahoma Winter 2018 Commercial"
  • Third Place: Special Publications - Junior Division - "Athletic Sponsorship Guide"

Marriel C. Hardy, chief communications officer, is thrilled that Coahoma has been recognized and hopes to continue promoting and advancing CCC's mission.

"It's always a good feeling to know that the work you are doing is of quality and is a good representation of your institution," said Hardy. "There are so many wonderful things happening here at Coahoma, we make every effort to highlight, promote, and champion the cause of this vibrant institution. We hope to continue to elevate the standards."

CPRAM is a collective of public relations and public information professionals of state governmental and educational agencies including both community colleges and universities. The organization promotes excellence in public relations at public and private four- and two-year educational institutions in the state.  Mississippi's four-year institutions compete in the senior division and community colleges in the junior division.

"It is truly an honor to be considered amongst a truly dynamic group of professionals," Hardy added. "The team is poised for the upcoming Fall semester and I look forward to submitting in next year's competition."

Other competitors in the junior division included Itawamba Community College, Hinds Community College, Mississippi Delta Community College, Holmes Community College, Copiah-Lincoln Community College, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and Jones College.
