SUNO Receives Initial-Licensure Level Accreditation from CAEP for the Next 7 Years

Southern University at New Orleans is pleased to announce that the College of Education and Human Development has received accreditation at the initial-licensure level by the Accreditation Council of the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) for the next 7 years. The decision was made during the council's meeting on April 23, 2023, and is a testament to the quality of education provided by the College.

According to the Accreditation Action Report, the College of Education and Human Development at Southern University at New Orleans met all CAEP standards and is now accredited at the initial-licensure level for the next 7 years. This accreditation recognizes the College's commitment to excellence in teacher preparation and its ability to prepare effective educators for the classroom.

In response to the news, SUNO Chancellor Dr. James H Ammons, Jr. expressed his excitement, stating, "This accreditation is a significant achievement for the College of Education and Human Development at SUNO.
