Greetings Colleagues,
I trust you’re well. Today I’m celebrating 1876 founding of The Augusta Institute, an institution of higher education established for African-American students. The Augusta Institute moved to Atlanta in 1879, and in 1913 was re-named Morehouse College.
Thursday, March 5 Webinar – Highlights and Takeaways – Emory Center for Digital Scholarship/HBCU Library Alliance Summer Institute
A bit of background…
The HBCU Library Alliance partnered with the Emory Center for Digital Scholarship last summer on a weeklong training focused on digital scholarship. Twenty institutions were accepted into the program hosted in Atlanta at Emory’s Woodruff Library. Participants received training on the use of Omeka, a tool for building digital exhibits; OpenTourBuilder, a tool developed by the Emory Center for Digital Scholarship to create mobile tours; and WordPress, a blogging tool.
Instructor: Elizabeth Jean Brumfield, Distance Services Librarian, Prairie View A&M University (TX), attended the training and will present a 60-minute webinar using the Adobe Connect platform to summarize her experience and share examples of completed projects from Prairie View and other participating libraries. She will provide attendees with a basic understanding of the benefits and challenges of these tools.
