President-Chancellor Ray Belton welcomes Turkish delegation
President-Chancellor Dr. Ray Belton met recently on the Baton Rouge campus with administrators from Bursa Technical University in Bursa, Turkey. The meeting was a goodwill stop by the Turkish delegation to reaffirm its partnership with Southern University on student, faculty and staff exchanges.
During the gathering, Belton exchanged gifts with the leader of the Turkish delegation, Dr. Abdullah Emin Akay, the International Office Coordinator for Bursa Technical University.
The meeting was arranged by Dr. Barbara Carpenter, dean of International Affairs, along with Dr. Osman Kandara, professor of Computer Science and the SUBR campus liaison to Turkey.
