Celebrate Small Business Week with ASU's SBDC!

ASU's Small Business Development Center Sponsors Training Events in Honor of Small Business Week

ASU's Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will host several training sessions for Montgomery Entrepreneurs as part of the celebration of National Small Business Week.

"The week of celebration takes place from May 1 - May 7, and its purpose is to bring to the public's attention the critical importance that entrepreneurs and small businesses bring to the nation's well-being and economy," stated Andrea Rogers Mosley, director of the University's SBDC.

"The theme for this year's week of celebration is 'Building Back America Through Entrepreneurship,' and we will commemorate this week by hosting several virtual small business training events for the local community. This is our way of celebrating ASU President Ross's vision of CommUniversity," Mosley said.

The following events sponsored by ASU's SBDC are free and open to the public:

(I) "Disaster Planning and Preparedness Tools For Small Business"

WHEN: May 2 from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. via ZOOM.

Mosley explained that this event answers the question of "What's the first move, when disaster strikes?" This program outlines the steps that should be taken by owners in the event of an emergency so as to stay safe and protect their small business operations. This live online course is designed to equip small businesses with information to mitigate risk from disasters and pandemics such as COVID-19, hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, or cyber-attacks. This interactive course will assist small businesses with developing disaster readiness and recovery strategies for implementation to keep their investment, employees and customers safe from disasters and epidemics while ensuring the continued operation of their businesses and the protection of their capital and intellectual properties. The course is led by Taisha "Tai" Aracen, a corporate sponsorship strategist and social enterprise architect consultant. Tai is the founder of AracenCo, a real estate development firm, and SocialSynergy818 (SS818), which is a social enterprise consulting firm.
