National Alumni Association Announces Annual Honorees

NATIONAL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES ANNUAL HONOREES

Lincoln University (MO) and the Lincoln University Alumni Association are pleased to announce the selection of six alumni to receive the association's highest awards.  Mr. Robert G. Flowers Jr. ('58) of Ft. Washington, MD and Dr. Leo W. Pickett ('59) of Forestville, MD, were selected to receive the Distinguished Alumni Award.  Individuals who receive this award have demonstrated loyalty and commitment to Lincoln University, the National Alumni Association and their local alumni chapters.  Their extra mile efforts are reflected through the continuous and generous giving of time, talent, resources and monetary support.

Mr. Joseph S. McDuffie ('47) of St. Louis, MO, Mr. James E. Jones ('50) of Madison, WI, Mr. Stanley S. Scott ('59) of Dobbs Ferry, NY, Dr. Frankie Hurt Cooper ('62) of Indianapolis, IN, the Honorable Iris Ferguson ('66) of St. Louis, MO and Col. Ishmon Burks ('67) of Louisville, KY, and have been selected for induction into the Lincoln University Alumni Hall of Fame. Both Mr. McDuffie and Mr. Scott will be honored posthumously. The Hall of Fame recognizes alumni, both living and deceased, who have distinguished themselves through their pioneering efforts, innovation, accomplishments, trailblazing spirit and uniqueness. Their contributions have impacted their chosen fields locally, regionally, nationally or internationally. Plaques honoring Hall of Fame inductees are hung in the Hall of Fame Room in Memorial Hall on the campus of Lincoln University.

Distinguished Alumni Awards and the Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place at the Lincoln University National Alumni Association's 74th Annual Convention, to be held in Washington, DC from July 9 through 13.  Family, friends, colleagues and fellow alumni may place a congratulatory ad in the commemorative souvenir program.  Space is available for full page, half page, quarter page or business card advertisements.  The deadline for advertisements is June 5.  For information, contact bcarnwine7@gmail.commailto:bcarnwine7@gmail.com.
