Greetings Colleagues,

I trust you're well.  The HBCU Library Alliance is pleased to announce a partnership with the Digital Library Federation in support of their Sunday, October 22, 2017, one-day un-conference. The theme, "digital libraries and digital library pedagogy as common mission, common ground between liberal arts and colleges and programs and HBCUs" covers a range of timely issues in our community.

The Digital Library Federation is a community of practitioners who advance research, learning, social justice, and the public good through the creative design and wise application of digital library technologies. Digital Library Federation Executive Director Bethany Nowviskie and I talked at length on Friday about the partnership and un-conference.  As always, I was pleased and excited to share the value, history, success and challenges of the HBCU Library Alliance.

Paste this link https://www.diglib.org/groups/liberal-arts-colleges/ into your address bar for more information. I encourage you to consider participation as a member of the planning committee and/or presenting a lightning session.

Know that I've shared with Bethany my concerns regarding travel for the un-conference and will keep you informed of available options.

Contact me directly with questions or additional information.  I look forward, with excitement, to nurturing a relationship with the Digital Library Federation.

Stay tuned!

Sandra
