The donation will help fund scholarships for students majoring in sport management at Claflin. Tom Foster, SRR President and Project Manager, presented the donation to Claflin President Henry N. Tisdale. Since 2012, Savannah River Remediation (SRR), located in Aiken, S.C., has been a partner with Claflin University in providing scholarships for students. This partnership has resulted in more than $27,000 in scholarships. Dr. Tisdale expressed his gratitude for SRR's donation and for the agency's continued support of Claflin University. SRR and Claflin renewed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that prepares students for careers in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). Included are internships, scholarships, career fairs and cooperative education opportunities. "We are thankful for the relationship we have with Savannah River Remediation and their commitment to helping Claflin University develop visionary leaders," said Dr. Tisdale. SRR is the liquid waste contractor at the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Savannah River Site. SRR is composed of a team of companies led by AECOM with partners Bechtel National, CH2M and BWX Technologies.
