Position: Instructional Electronic Resources Librarian
This is a permanent full-time position.

Responsibilities: The James B. Duke Memorial Library at Johnson C. Smith University is seeking an entry-level Instructional Electronic Resources Librarian. The  Instructional Electronic Resources Librarian will be responsible managing the collection and maintenance of electronic resources for the library, including vendor relationship for ordering, processing invoices, maintaining and reporting data usage and attending the NCLIVE consortium meetings. The Instructional Electronic Resources Librarian will promote the Library's Open Education Resources initiative at JCSU.
The Instructional Electronic Resources Librarian will also be responsible for promoting and providing instructional services to faculty and students on how to use the library electronic databases; assist in designing and developing learning modules for online and self-paced learning; and will assist in contributing and editing the library websites, social media, and library news.
Qualifications: A Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution. This is an entry-level position, ideal for recent library science graduates. Candidate should have a basic understanding of the management and assessment of serials and electronic databases. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing excellent user-centered services in an academic library setting; ability to work successfully in a collaborative environment; excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; commitment to diversity and understanding of the contributions a diverse workforce brings to the workplace; and an understanding of electronic resources usage statistics; effective problem-solving skills, oral and written communication skills; editing skills, social media skills and assessment skills.
Prefer someone who has experience in evaluating, selecting, and managing serials and electronic resources for an academic library. The candidate should be comfortable teaching information literacy to students and faculty. The ideal candidate will have advanced computer and technology skills.  Manage the serials and electronic resources in collaboration with faculty and librarians. Assist in the design and creation of learning modules for serials and electronic resources.  Teach information literacy to students and faculty on how to use the library electronic resources.  Organize and maintain statistical data on all activities concerning serials and electronic resources.  Market and serve as liaison to assigned academic departments to enhance cooperation and promotion of serials and electronic resources.  Contribute to the writing and editing for the library website, social media, and library news.  Evaluate/Assess the effectiveness of serial/electronic resources and services.  Contribute to assessing and establishing learning outcomes for information literacy instruction, and assist with developing policies and procedures, budget, fundraising/grant, and public relations activities.  Rotate at the Center of Information Desk providing reference services.  Required to work Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Finalists for this position are subject to a background check.  Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background investigation including criminal history and identity check.
SALARY: The salary for the position is competitive with similar positions nationally and is contingent upon the qualifications and experience.
