Morgan State University News July 14, 2020 Morgan State University Accounting Program Earns Endorsement by IMA (Institute of Management Accountants) School is the first HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) to become endorsed IMA(r)<https://www.imanet.org/?ssopc=1> (Institute of Management Accountants), one of the largest and most respected associations focused exclusively on advancing the management accounting profession, is proud to announce that Morgan State University<https://www.morgan.edu/> has earned endorsement of its accounting program. Morgan State is the first HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) to receive this prestigious honor. "I am so proud to welcome Morgan State as the first HBCU to earn this honor, as it speaks to our continued D&I efforts and helps us to build a diverse future of accountants and business leaders," said Linda Devonish-Mills, Director of Diversity and Inclusion at IMA. IMA's Endorsement of Higher Education initiative recognizes programs that meet high educational standards, enabling students to pursue and earn the CMA(r)<https://www.imanet.org/cma-certification?ssopc=1> (Certified Management Accountant) credential. To qualify for endorsement by IMA, schools must meet the following criteria: (1) the program must substantially cover the CMA exam content; (2) the program must have adequate faculty resources to deliver this content; (3) the program must be accredited by a recognized accreditation organization and (4) a faculty member must be designated as an IMA Campus Advocate.
