Clark Atlanta University News November 14, 2018 Clark Atlanta University Culminates American Education Week with Digital Storytelling Festival and Community Service The National Education Association's 97th annual American Education Week-November 12-16, 2018-presents all Americans with an opportunity to celebrate public education and honor individuals who are making a difference in ensuring every child receives a quality education. Each day, the CAU School of Education will present an event or activity exploring the role of educators at public schools in academic rigor and success. On Thursday, November 15, the 8th Annual School of Education Digital Storytelling Festival will take place from 10 am to 12 pm at Davage Auditorium. Themed "Once Upon A Time, I Knew I Could...", the event utilizes diverse partnership collaborations as a stimulus for rich "learning-lab" experiences. The Digital Storytelling Festival features Clark Atlanta University Early Childhood Education teacher candidates, Educational Studies teacher candidates and K-3 student co-authors from Atlanta Public Schools. Thursday and Friday, the School of Education faculty and staff will also explore "Staying Connected: Culture for Service." The itinerary includes Martin Luther King Jr Middle School Career Day, as well as visits to Atlanta Public Schools, Gwinnett Schools, Clayton County Schools, and Dekalb County Schools.
