Greetings Colleagues,

I enjoyed a delightful conversation with Otis Alexander, new Library Director at Texas College.  Join me in welcoming him to the HBCU Library Alliance!

Otis has also been the Library Director at Southeastern University (DC), Saint Paul's College (VA), Gary Public Library, and Danville Public Library (VA).  In addition, he has been the Head Librarian for the Virgin Islands Bureau of Libraries, Museums, and Archaeological Services (Frediksted), as well as the Assistant Librarian at Cuttington University College, Republic of Liberia.  Otis has lectured in the Arts & Science Division at the Danville Community College (VA) where he taught "Controversial Issues in Contemporary American Culture," and "Introduction to African-American Studies."

Otis is an accomplished classical musician (French Horn, Piano, Voice, and Violin). He studied at the Harvard Graduate School of Education Leadership Institute for Academic Librarians and Oberlin Conservatory of Music Institute for Voice Performance Pedagogy.
