University of North Carolina at Greensboro
The University Libraries seek an innovative, knowledgeable and dynamic individual to serve as a science liaison librarian. The science liaison will work collaboratively with teaching and library faculty colleagues to develop and provide information resources, information literacy and research expertise to faculty and students in specific science departments. This position reports to the Head of Reference and Instructional Services and will join a department of nine librarians and four paraprofessionals. It is a twelve-month tenure-track faculty position. Demonstrated professional achievement, service, and scholarly/creative activity are required for reappointment and tenure.
Responsibilities

Serve as a liaison to specific science departments including, but not limited to, Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Physics and Astronomy, and the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering.

Work collaboratively with science faculty to develop, deliver and assess information literacy for science student in a variety of formats and platforms.

Work with science faculty and students to develop data management and data curation plans for their research.

Develop multimedia tutorials and online research guides.

Educate and inform faculty and graduate students on scholarly communication issues such as open-access initiatives, digital publishing and copyright.

Develop print and electronic collections in liaison areas

Provide general and subject specific reference and research assistance service.

Develop and manage print and electronic resources for the sciences.

Able to work with culturally diverse populations.
