Coahoma Community College News February 2015 CCC’s community art class receives great response Community members became artists for an evening during Coahoma Community College’s Division of Workforce Education’s recent “Make and Take” art class. Nearly 20 individuals signed up for the community class, hosted from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at the CCC’s Workforce Development Center. During the class, instructor Katie Brett Pullen, owner of Brush Strokes taught the participants to create their very own textured abstract church on canvas and a textured angel on wood. “They loved it … We’ve received a great response from this class,” said CCC’s Director of Workforce Education Kyrie Antici. According to Antici, comments from the class included: “Best time ever, loved it! I can’t wait for the next one”; “Thanks so much for doing this class—it was awesome!”; and “When’s the next one?” “I think everyone was really happy with the art they were able to take home with them. We’re excited that this class was received so well by the community.” The class is a part of CCC’s Workforce Development Center’s mission to serve the educational needs of citizens in Coahoma County as well as to broaden our scope of activities and events offered to the community.
