Alcorn looks to feature published Alcornite authors as part of its 150th year celebration

A committee has been formed to find and highlight Alcorn State University students, faculty, staff, and alumni thriving as published authors.

The University will feature authors of published scholarly or creative works during its upcoming showcase of authors. The celebration of authors is part of the University's Sesquicentennial Celebration. Eligible works include articles published in adjudicated journals and professional magazines, books -including contributions to books such as chapters - poetry, and plays. Authors that are interested in participating should submit their work by April 4.

Dr. Donzell Lee, former interim Alcorn president and organizer of this initiative, is excited about showcasing talented writers from the University.

"The celebration of our authors highlights the creative output of individuals who mean so much to the University," said Lee.

Lee said that the series would also shed light on Alcorn's excellent academic programs that prepare students for success beyond campus.

"We often boast about our academic programs. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase Alcorn academics and the scholarship and creativity of our authors who have benefitted from their association with this great University."
