Position Summary

The Division of Library and Information Resources is accepting applications for its Research and Instruction Librarian position.

Minimum Required Education

Master’s Degree from an ALA accredited program in library and information science.

Minimum Required Experience

Experience in planning and/or providing information literacy instruction or other teaching experience.

Minimum Required Licenses and/or Certifications

None.

·        Excellent communication, planning, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
·        Knowledge of information literacy, organization trends, practices, and issues.
·        Demonstrated abilities in research, scholarly work, and professional services.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

·        Provides basic and in-depth reference services and research consultation to faculty, students, and staff.
·        Develops and implements virtual and in class library instruction programs, workshops and tours.
·        Creates and maintains instructional materials (online videos and tutorials), and research guides, using appropriate learning management software, new media production tools, online and mobile learning tools.
·        Coordinates with Dean and Library Liaisons to actively build professional relationships with faculty, students, and staff in assigned academic programs and across the university to develop research and instructional service strategies.
·        Actively engage with collection building in support of research and teaching needs of faculty and students of assigned academic programs.
·        Design and implement assessment tools to evaluate student instructional effectiveness and gather feedback for further opportunities of improvement and impact on student learning.
·        Lead the library efforts in social media and digitizing efforts in collaboration with other librarians.
·        Collaborate and work with Jake Ayers Research Library faculty and students at the e-Center.
·        Coordinate relevant visual displays observing major university and national calendar observances.
·        Will share nights and weekends.
