Mr. and Ms. Alumni Coronation raises over $60,000 for scholarships

The National Alumni Association of Elizabeth City State University recently presented Dr. Sadie Johnson Carter ('72) as Ms. Alumni 2012-2013. She is a member of the alumni association's Raleigh-Durham-Wake Alumni Chapter. In addition to the Bachelor of Science degree from ECSU, she holds a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Hampton University and a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
Carter retired from the Commonwealth of Virginia after 35 and one-half years as an educator and from the state of North Carolina after five and one-half years as a human resources director. She is now the Assistant Vice President for Human Resources at Saint Augustine's University in Raleigh, NC. The coronation was held on October 18.
The Mr. and Ms. Alumni Coronation is an annual fundraiser that supports university scholarships, recruitment efforts and other student support initiatives. These contenders raised over $60,000.
