Voorhees Mass Communication major receives $1,000 scholarship
To qualify for the scholarship, the student had to be a senior with at least a 2.7 grade point average, have a minimum of 110 cumulative credit hours, and plays an active leadership role on campus.
McClain is an active member in the Eta Iota Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., White Rose Social Club, and currently has a full graphic design internship with the Voorhees College Office of Communications.
"I consider myself one of the lucky ones because many students find themselves trying to seek enough tuition," McClain said. "Because of Mrs. Williams' kind gesture, I have enough funding to cover my tuition and will be graduating this year."
"No matter what background you come from, remember that you're just as capable as anyone else. Get a quality education so the possibilities and opportunities will be limitless. Do what you can, with what you have and where you are."
