Greetings Colleagues,

I trust you're well.  Today I'm celebrating the work ahead for the HBCU Library Alliance as we move toward sustainability.

I'm pleased to report that members in good standing approved a revision to the Bylaws that extends the term of the Past Chair from one year to two years, with appointment as chairperson of a fundraising committee. The fundraising committee will also include the Chair, the Vice Chair and Program Director.  The revision provides the HBCU Library Alliance Board of Directors with consistent membership on the Fundraising committee to develop relationships with prospective donors. Additionally, the revision enables a supported transfer of funding relationships across the HBCU leadership.

We've begun planning a Board Retreat for early 2012 that will focus on fundraising strategies for the HBCU Library Alliance.

I'll keep you posted and seek your suggestions as we move forward with these activities.

Respectfully,

Sandra
