Cheyney University News August 19, 2015 Let's Get Zipping! Zipcars Arriving on Cheyney University's Campus Cheyney University students, faculty and staff will soon have new options to get off campus. Besides carpooling with friends or catching the #119 and #120 SEPTA buses, come September, they can grab (on a first-come basis) one of the two Zipcars parked in specially designated parking spaces at the Marcus Foster Student Center parking lot. There for the taking by Zipcar members, the brand-new cars are outfitted with wireless technology, a built-in copilot program, toll passes and snow shovels. 'Zipcars live here' signs in the Student Center parking lot will designate the car location. Zipcars are self-service and on-demand, with gas, insurance, maintenance and 189 miles/day included in every reservation. The cars are fuel-efficient with a low carbon footprint, fun and easy to drive. To gain access to Zipcars, one must join Zipcar through zipcar<https://members.zipcar.com/registration/#step> either online<https://members.zipcar.com/registration/#step> or by phone at1-866-4zipcar. Membership costs $15 for Cheyney University students, faculty and staff or $70/year, $7/month for community members. Zipcar reservation costs ranges from $7.50/hour to $69/day. Students 18 years or older and faculty and staff 21 and over are eligible to join. Drivers (including internationals) must possess a valid drivers license and pass a driving record check.
