Philander Smith College Participates in Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week

Students sleeping outside to bring awareness to the homeless is just one of the many experiences planned to honor national Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week at Philander Smith College.  From Nov. 14 to 20 students and volunteers will participate in efforts to address the needs of Central Arkansas's homeless and poverty-stricken population.
With homelessness and poverty considered social justices causes, students are spending this week attending and participating in events to feed, support and help address the reasons that create and sustain these conditions.  Sponsored by the Office of Religious Life and Office of Student Involvement and Leadership and Volunteer Services the week of events starts off with a concert and Worship service. All events and activities are open to the public.
