Harris-Stowe’s Department of Social & Behavioral Sciences to Host Constitution Day
WHO: The College of Arts & Sciences Department of Social & Behavioral Sciences at Harris-Stowe State University.
WHAT: September 17th is Constitution Day and to commemorate this historic national event HSSU is hosting a distinguished panel of guest speakers to discuss this year’s theme “The First Amendment and the Right to Assemble and Protest.”
The panel will feature Adolphus Pruitt II, president of the St. Louis City NAACP; Attorney Anthony Gray; Attorney Rufus Tate Jr.; Attorney Jeffrey Mittman, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Missouri; Attorney Denise Lieberman of the Advancement Project - Voter Protection Program; and Attorney Shira Truitt.
Topics will include the First Amendment and knowing your rights before you assemble and protest.
WHEN: Wednesday, September 17, 2014, from 1-2:20 p.m.
WHERE: The Emerson Performance Center Bank of America Theatre on HSSU’s campus. Admission is free and open to the public.
