Greetings Colleagues,

I trust you're well.  Today I'm celebrating Dorothy Irene Height, 10th National President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority from 1946 to 1957. In 1958, Height became president of the National Council of Negro Woman. Working closely with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Roy Wilkins, Whitney Young, A. Philip Randolph and others, Height participated in major civil and human rights events in the 1950's and 1960's. President Ronald Reagan presented her the Citizens Medal Award for distinguished service to the country in 1989. Height received the Spingarn Medal from the NAACP in July 1993 and was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame in October 1993. President Bill Clinton presented her the Presidential Medal of Freedom Award in August 1994. Ms. Height joined the ancestors on April 20, 2010.
