Polsinelli Shughart Launches Comprehensive Newsletter for Minority Institutions

Washington, D.C. Lobbyist Anita Estell spearheads effort to provide updates on federal regulations impacting minority universities.
(BLACK PR WIRE) WASHINGTON, DC. – December 8, 2010 – The National Law Firm of Polsinelli Shughart PC is adding value to the HBCU and MSI communities. Shareholder and Lobbyist Anita R. Estell has initiated quarterly communications via the creation of the Education Policy Innovation Center (E.P.I.Center Newsletter) that is a comprehensive and interactive resource guide focusing on policy changes at the federal level involving historically black colleges and universities, and minority serving institutes.

“Changing times require organizations to be informed of regulations impacting their operations,” emphasized Estell, who also serves as the newsletter’s editor. “There are significant changes on the horizon for the HBCU and MSI communities. Leaders of minority institutions will be required to move quickly and cohesively to affect the changing climate regarding the future of education policy.” Estell is also a senior member of the Polsinelli Public Policy group; and manages a diverse government affairs client portfolio which requires continuous monitoring of a $3.8 trillion federal budget and securing several billions of dollars in federal appropriations for client projects annually.

Recent changes in Washington and budget challenges at the national, state and local levels require expanded collaboration and engagement. “There is a vital role that HBCUs and MSIs can play in helping the nation to train today’s and tomorrow’s talent,” stated Estell. The E.P.I.Center will help inform and connect communities in such a way that can help close existing gaps and drive innovation.”

The inaugural edition of the publication was released this fall, and the next quarterly issue is scheduled for release in early February 2011. “Both issues are relevant in that the inaugural issue provides a recap of the federal landscape prior to the mid-term elections. The next issue will provide a clearer picture of what to expect in a brand new Congress accompanied by a shift in control in one chamber,” stated Estell.
