MVSU to Host Valley Bound Sessions

Mississippi Valley State University is set to host its Valley Bound sessions on June 17, July 15 and August 1 from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. The sessions are a part of the University's new student early orientation and registration.
The event allows freshman and transfer students to register for classes, connect with faculty and staff and explore the campus.
Renardo Hall, dean of University College, said the event is for students who have confirmed that they will attend the University.
"It is an introduction to the wonderful 'oasis in the Delta," said Hall. "Students will be coming at different times throughout the summer to take care of initial registration and orient themselves and their parents to our campus."
During the visit, various offices and departments will provide information to the students about financial aid, housing, areas of study and a number of other 'freshmen essentials.'
"We are giving them a taste of the Valley," added Hall. "We are all so excited! Every office will be laying out their 'welcome mat' to ensure that students have a good impression of the University and what we have to offer."
Hall also said he wants the new students to understand how vital they are to MVSU and that the job of the faculty and staff is to ensure that they have a smooth transition from high school to college.
"The education that students receive at MVSU is unique in comparison to other universities," he added.
"Our students receive an affordable, quality education in a small environment where they can get the nurturing they deserve," said Hall.
