Tijuana R. Hudson Named Vice President for Fiscal Affairs at Claflin University
Claflin University is pleased to announce that Tijuana R. Hudson has been appointed to the position of vice president for fiscal affairs.
"It is a remarkable privilege to serve Claflin University in this critical position. I would like to thank President Tisdale and the Board of Trustees for bestowing their faith in me," said Hudson. "Under my leadership, the institution's Office of Fiscal Affairs will always demonstrate a commitment to fiscal accountability and superior customer service."
She will begin her tenure as vice president for fiscal affairs on July 1.
As the institution's chief financial officer, Hudson's responsibilities at Claflin will include accounting services, student accounts, investments, budgets and systems coordination and other related business matters. Hudson also will oversee the preparation and administration of the University's annual budget. She will be a member of the president's cabinet.
"One of the key elements of our strategic plan is fiscal accountability," said President Dr. Henry N. Tisdale. "We feel strongly that Mrs. Hudson will be an excellent steward for Claflin University and ensure each dollar spent will move the institution forward and provide our students with a high quality education."
Hudson has served as associate vice president for fiscal affairs at the University since July 2010. She has more than 20 years of experience in the financial sector. Before coming to Claflin, Hudson was the vice president for administrative and financial affairs at Wilberforce University in Ohio.

From 2001 to 2005, Hudson served as chief financial officer for Lemoyne-Owen College in Memphis, Tennessee, where she brought a $3 million deficit to a $295,000 surplus. She has worked at several finance firms in Memphis and Atlanta, in addition to serving as director of finance at the Church Health Center, a United Methodist Church affiliated large clinic in Memphis.

Hudson has a bachelor's degree in accounting from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University and became a certified public accountant in 1992.
Hudson is married to Mr. Rodney Hudson. They have two sons, William and Christopher.
