Greetings Colleagues,
I trust you're well. Today I'm celebrating the Preserving the Story of the HBCU Library Alliance grant project. Funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, this is the first direct grant award to the HBCU Library Alliance. Thirty-five institutions submitted success stories in support of this compelling project. These deliverables serve as our first strategic effort to increase opportunities for organizational sustainability and improve organizational visibility.
Project Coordinator Dr. Shanesha Brooks-Tatum and I selected success stories from the following nine institutions to be documented and disseminated via non-peer reviewed journals.
Atlanta University Center (GA)
Claflin University (SC)
Delaware State University (DE)
Fayetteville State University (NC)
Savannah State University (GA)
Southern University and A&M College (Baton Rouge, LA)
University of Maryland Eastern Shore (MD)
University of the Virgin Islands (St. Thomas, VI)
Virginia State University (VA)
Dr. Brooks-Tatum will make contact with these institutions to begin scheduling interviews and site-visits.
Thanks to all who submitted a success story. The work that is done by our libraries strengthens, at a deep level, our institutions and our community.
I'm honored to preserve the story of the HBCU Library Alliance with you!
Respectfully,
Sandra
