Congratulations Paul!

Dr. Paul K. Baker has been appointed College Archivist at Bennett College in Greensboro, NC.  Bennett College, founded in 1873 as a coeducational historically black institution was restructured in 1926 to specifically educate women.  The College's archives range from the 1870s until the present and among noted collections includes the Constance Hill Marteena Collection, and the Dr. Willa B. Player Collection, the first African American woman to serve as Bennett's President.  Dr. Baker holds the BA in Art/African American Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, MA in Public History from North Carolina State University and the Ph.D. in Leadership Studies from North Carolina A & T State University.

Dr. Baker has held several faculty and administrative positions including University Archivist at Fayetteville State University and Saint Augustine's University.  He completed the Management Development Program at Harvard University and the Modern Archives Institute at the National Archives in Washington, DC.  Among his fellowships include a Gilder Lehrman Fellow at Yale University and an Oxford University Roundtable Fellow, Oxford England.  In 2009, North Carolina Governor Beverly Perdue appointed Dr. Baker to the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Museum of History.  http://holgatedigitallibrary.bennett.edu/
