Head of Reference/User Services Librarian

Job Description:
The University Library seeks an energetic and creative information specialist who will report to the Head of Access Services. The duties of this position include supervising 2 employees and planning, organizing, and managing reference services. Provides leadership for the library's role as a campus partner in student success. Expands and strengthens the library's teaching role and educational impact by collaborating with faculty and staff to advance and support the student body in effectively identifying and using information. Responsible for creating and revising policies for traditional reference, scheduling individual consultations, chat/online reference, and roving reference. Responsible for collecting statistics on reference activity, assessment and writing reports.

Minimal Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have a strong public service orientation, the ability to work as a team player in a collegial environment, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff. Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited institution or equivalent required and at least 2 years of working in a library setting.
