North Carolina Central University will participate in the Triangle Scholarly Communication Institute

For the past 10 years, a group of academics has gathered annually at the University of Virginia for the Scholarly Communication Institute [http://uvasci.org/], to study, develop, and implement creative and innovative strategies to advance scholarly communication in the context of the ongoing digital revolution.

This year, the SCI is moving to the Triangle - we will be holding the first TriangleSCI [http://trianglesci.org/] at the Rizzo Center in Chapel Hill from November 9-13.  An RFP went out last winter, and in the spring five teams were invited to attend to develop their projects together and learn from each other at a four day institute that promises to be part retreat, part seminar, part development sprint, and part unconference.    North Carolina Central was one of the five teams selected to participate in this inaugural institute.  Our team members are Dr. Sean C. Colbert- Lewis Director of Teacher Education, Sr.; Dr. Matthew A. Cook, Professor of Postcolonial & South Asian Studies; Danielle M. Colbert - Lewis Reference Librarian; Karen E. Grimwood, Curriculum Materials Librarian; Hafsa Murad, Information Literacy Librarian and Jamillah Scott Branch, Head of Reference.  You can learn more about SCI at trianglesci.orghttp://trianglesci.org/.
