Howard University News February 6, 2014 Howard Alumna and Trustee Amy S. Hilliard Tapped as President of Fashion Fair Cosmetics Howard University alumna and Trustee Amy S. Hilliard (BS '74) was recently named as the new president of Fashion Fair Cosmetics, the largest Black-owned cosmetics company in the world. Fashion Fair is owned by Johnson Publishing Company (JPC). As President of Fashion Fair, Hilliard will report to JPC Chief Executive Officer, Desiree Rogers, and will be responsible for leading the company's operations, including marketing, sales, operations and retail partnerships. "I am sincerely honored to take over the role of President for Fashion Fair Cosmetics," said Hilliard. "This company holds an iconic role in the African-American community. Personally meeting Mrs. Eunice Johnson as she launched the brand was historic, and I am excited to play a role in the company's growth and expansion globally." Hilliard is a senior executive with experience in marketing, business development, general management, strategic marketing, new product development, advertising, public relations, acquisitions, manufacturing and retail merchandising. Prior to joining Fashion Fair, Hilliard served as the CEO, president and founder of The ComfortCake Company, LLC and The Hilliard Group, Inc. Her daughter, Angelica Jones, was recently appointed as director of operations for The ComfortCake Company and will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the company. Hilliard also served in senior leadership roles at L'Oreal for the Soft Sheen Products division, Burrell Communications Group, The Pillsbury Company and The Gillette Company. Hilliard, a Detroit native, has a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science from Howard University. She continues to stay active in the community and with her alma maters. Hilliard has served as a trustee of Howard University since 2010.
