CAU Cancer Research Center Launches Cedars-Sinai Biomedical Education Pipeline Initiative

Clark Atlanta University today announced the launch of the Biomedical Education Pipeline Initiative (BEPI), in partnership with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. Through this program, the Center for Cancer Research and Therapeutic Development will offer paid summer internships to qualifying CAU students majoring in biology, chemistry, and biomedical engineering.

While each internship is unique, interns participate in the following core activities:

Safety training and orientation
Guidance and regular one-on-one meetings with research faculty
Opportunity to attend lab meetings, department meetings and journal clubs
Lunchtime learning and networking events
Opportunity to enhance presentation skills
Attend or participate in the annual Poster Day in August

All interested applicants can apply via the program’s website for both the BEPI program and internships for academic credit. The deadline for the BEPI program is March 1, 2019.  Academic credit internships have a rolling application process.  Interested students should directly contact Cedars-Sinai faculty members to identify available internships based on their area of interest.
