POSITION SUMMARY:
The Atlanta University Center - Robert W. Woodruff Library is committed to displaying excellence in our delivery of service.  Notable accomplishments include, recipient of two Communicator Awards for print communication materials, recipient of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation grant for HBCU Photographic Preservation Project Round II, and national recognition with the receipt of two awards in the 28th Annual Educational Advertising Awards.
To continue our excellence in program and services, the library seeks an experienced, energetic, collaborative, and highly motivated individual to join the Interlibrary Loan Unit of the Content and Collection Management Department as the Unit Head, of Interlibrary Loan.  The incumbent will be responsible for the effective management of all aspects of interlibrary loan and document delivery, including setting policy, establishing goals, and planning workflow.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for all aspects of interlibrary loan and resource delivery services including the borrowing and lending of materials, document delivery, and article purchase-on-demand services.
Implements pertinent ILLiad features and updates, including developing local add-ons to increase ILL workflow efficiency.
Maintains ILLiad online request forms and applies local customizations as needed.
Troubleshoots software and equipment issues related to resource delivery.
Provides leadership in the design and implementation of resource delivery services.
Manages copyright compliance for electronic course reserves materials.
Develops policies and procedures aligned with best practices in resource delivery services.
Keeps abreast of trends and developments and actively pursues innovations in resource sharing, document delivery, and copyright law as it pertains to resource sharing.
Serves on internal committees and working groups as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
Two (2) plus years of experience in interlibrary loan and other resource delivery workflows.
Thorough understanding of ILLiad.
Experience working with integrated library systems (preferably OCLC's WorldShare Management Services).
Demonstrated organizational, analytical, decision-making, problem-solving and planning skills. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and work effectively in a team environment.
Strong commitment to service.
Experience with copyright compliance.
Two (2) plus experience supervising staff.

SALARY & BENEFITS:

JOB Title: Project Archivist

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Atlanta University Center Robert W. Woodruff Library is seeking a highly motivated, energetic archivist for a grant funded position.  This position will manage and implement a project to process, digitize, and make accessible collections from the Archives Research Center related to African American religion. The incumbent will assist with the creation of an on-line digital collection containing audio and video recordings, as well as photographic materials.  The project archivist will report to both the Head of Archives Research Center and Head of Digital Services Unit throughout the duration of the project. Appointment is full-time for 2.5 years and funded by a library grant.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Arrange and describe collections, containing paper, photographic, audio and video formats, to include preparation of electronic finding aids, catalog records, and indexes
Perform research to accurately identify, date, and describe documents and publications
Employ basic preservation methods in processing the collections and identify materials that need review by conservator
Coordinate outsourced audio and video reformatting to include completing inventory of holdings and working closely with digitization vendor to ensure timely and quality images.
Oversee and conduct in-house digitization of photographic materials
Perform item level metadata description of digitized audio, video and still image files
Work with digital services unit to create online collections and upload files to institutional repository for access
Supervise and assist in the training of a graduate student worker
Assist with developing promotional and outreach materials related to project including articles, presentations at professional conferences and blog posts; participates in team meetings, provides status updates, and project reports
Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

MLS degree from an ALA-accredited library school or MA degree in History or Archival Science; academic training and use in archival management
Demonstrated knowledge of current archival theory, practice and standards
Demonstrated knowledge of handling, processing and reformatting of audio visual collections
Demonstrated knowledge of metadata standards including EAD and Dublin Core
Demonstrated knowledge of digital collection management software
Strong written and verbal communications, and computer skills
Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team
Ability to perform physical activities associated with the archival environment

PREFFERED:

Demonstrated knowledge of 20th century African American history, literature and culture, highly desirable
At least 2 years of experience working in an archival repository processing manuscript and photographic collections
Supervisory skills, desirable
Familiarity with collection management technologies, such as ArchivesSpace and Omeka
Knowledge of religion, particularly Christianity and Islam
