North Carolina Central University News February 27, 2019 Wellness Clinic Open House Set for March 9 Residents of Durham and surrounding communities will have the opportunity to tour and experience services provided through the North Carolina Central University (NCCU) Behavioral Health and Wellness Clinic at a community open house March 9, 2019. This free event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Miller Morgan Building, 500 Nelson St., Durham, North Carolina 27707. Christopher L. Edwards, Ph.D., clinical preceptor for the clinic and a psychology adjunct instructor, will provide the keynote address. "It is our hope that the clinic will become an integral part of the health-care landscape in Durham and serve as a resource center for health and wellness education and information," said Sherry Eaton, Ph.D., a co-director of the center along with Public Health Professor Seronda Robinson, Ph.D. The Behavioral Health and Wellness Clinic was established in October 2018 by the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences to offer integrated mental and physical health care for the campus and the wider community. The community open house will introduce visitors to a variety of services offered by the clinic such as physical and mental health screenings, fitness and nutrition consultations, health education seminars, CPR and DWI classes, and other services. Participants also will be eligible to win prizes.
