Greetings Colleagues,

I trust you're well. Continue to be safe in all your activities.

EXCITING NEWS!!!! The HBCU Library Alliance has been accepted into the 3rd cohort of the Nonprofit Finance Fund/Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Initiative, "Building Financial Resilience in the Digital Humanitieshttps://mellon.org/grants/grants-database/grants/nonprofit-finance-fund/1907-06978/."

The text that follows is from the participant application and describes that initiative and activities. "The Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF) is a financial and advisory services organization dedicated to unlocking the potential of mission-driven organizations, and for 40 years has provided tailored investments, strategic advice, and accessible insights to the nonprofit sector. NFF approaches financial health not as an end unto itself, but as a means to amplifying mission and impact. Through its mission-centered approach, NFF empowers organizations to make decisions and plan for the future, while balancing organizational and financial realities.

NFF will work with a cohort of six organizations over a three-year period. Participating organizations will receive technical assistance to build organizational capacity, with the goal of creating more adaptable organizations that carry on the important work of developing, preserving, and disseminating scholarly work in the humanities. This integrated program will include convenings and group education; customized consulting to support planning for growth and adaptability; general operating support; and the opportunity to apply to the Foundation for change capital that will support business model shifts and build long-term resilience. In addition, the initiative is designed to disseminate learnings broadly to the field, sharing successes and challenges in real time, and offering models for organizations to promote financial strength and adaptability. "

The HBCU Library Alliance is pleased to engage in this initiative as we continue our work to strengthen community. The cohort is listed below.

  1. HathiTrust

  2. HBCU Library Alliance
