Greetings, I am writing to you with regards to the National Endowment for the Humanities grant program called the NEH Awards for Faculty at Historically Black Colleges and Universities program<https://www.neh.gov/grants/research/awards-faculty-historically-black-colleges-and-universities#:~:text=The%20NEH%20Awards%20for%20Faculty%20program%20seeks%20to,value%20to%20humanities%20scholars%2C%20students%2C%20and%2For%20general%20audiences.>, which has an April 12, 2023 deadline. This program seeks to strengthen the humanities at HBCUs by encouraging and expanding humanities research opportunities for individual faculty and staff members. Recently offered and awarded projects submitted by HBCU faculty and staff demonstrate a wide range of topics and approaches and include Elise Oh (Howard University), "Gender: Dance, Travel, and Ritual in Early Modern English Literature, 1558-1668," Kim Vaz-Deville (Xavier University), "Spirituality of Resistance: African-American Masking in Contemporary Mardi Gras," and Manna Duah (North Carolina Central University), "U.S. International Education, Western Liberalism, and the Cold War in Africa."
