We are so excited about the HBCU Library Alliance 10th Membership Meeting and all the registrations coming in!

The Membership Meeting will be held Sunday, October 27, 2024 - Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, LA. We are proud to announce that we have been awarded an NEH Chair's Grant of $29,398.50https://hbculibraries.org/old-site/docs/News-Jul-24.pdf from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). The Endowment awards grants to top-rated proposals examined by panels of independent, external reviewers. This funding will support a day of professional development for seven student library ambassadors and twenty-one non-director library staff during the Membership Meeting.

Conference Presentations

Share your knowledge with the HBCU Library Alliance Membership! Conference proposal submissions will be accepted through Monday, August 26th.

Empowering our Members to Face the Future of Democracy and Education is the meeting theme. What has happened in your library to support this theme? Share the work of your library at the Membership Meeting, let us learn from you. Follow this link: Membership Meeting Conference Presentation Applicationhttps://forms.office.com/r/6Y9uSsEf8r to submit your proposal. Presentations should not be more than 10 minutes and include a Q&A. Applications will be judged on merit and relation to the theme. Decisions will be made by Friday, September 6, 2024.

Poster Presentations

Interested in a poster presentation instead of a conference presentation? The poster session will take place during the reception at the Baton Rouge Marriott hotel on Monday, October 28, 2024, 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm.

Guidelines

  1. Participants must be at their poster for the entire session.
  2. Flexible or sturdy poster displays not larger than 4'x8' (charts, photographs, diagrams, graphics, illustrations, etc.) should be visually appealing, easy to read, and clearly state their purpose.
  3. Presenters may distribute handouts, business cards, or other materials that they provide.
  4. No product advertisements.
  5. Accepted abstracts will be included in the conference program booklet.
