Greetings Dr. Mason,
Thanks for your message. Yes, this is a wonderful opportunity for the Digital Library Federation (DLF) and the HBCU Library Alliance.
The selection process was quite competitive and we're learning more about our most important, highly valued HBCU Library Alliance community! The Authenticity grant supports another 2 rounds of Fellows. It is my hope that we can engage even more applicants for the next 2 rounds of Fellows.
Respectfully,
Sandra

Ms. Phoenix,
Congratulations to the fellows. I just wanted to point out that I did not see any representation from South Carolina HBCU's. I know there was at least one applicant. I am sure the completion was competitive however, I hope in the future, attempts will be made to ensure that there is representation so that all schools in the state might benefit from this wonderful opportunity.

Colleagues,
I have exciting news to share!!!!
As you know, the HBCU Library Alliance and Digital Library Federation are in partnership with "The HBCU Library Alliance + Digital Library Federation Authenticity Project: Fostering Dynamic Fellowship Cohorts, Strategic Organizational Partnerships, & Authentic Community."
Benefits of the three-year project include professional development opportunities, mentoring, micro-grants for joint projects and engagement with the broader DLF community to foster authentic professional/personal relationships.
Fifteen (15) HBCU Library Alliance Fellows have been accepted into the Authenticity program. Board Chair Monika Rhue, Digital Library Federation Executive Director Bethany Nowviskie, Program Associate Becca Quon and I met with the Fellows via Zoom for introductions, to review the program and begin conversations to facilitate the mentor and conversation partner match.
Follow this link https://www.diglib.org/introducing-the-2019-authenticity-project-fellows/ to access the announcement.
I am confident that our Fellows will greatly influence and impact the Authenticity Project outcomes!
Respectfully,
Sandra
