THE LINCOLN UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT JENNINGS ELECTED TO PHILLY POPS BOARD

Dr. Robert R. Jennings, the 13th President of The Lincoln University has been elected to the Encore Series, Inc.,/The Philly POPS Board of Directors. Dr. Jennings was unanimously elected as a member at the January 20, 2014 meeting.

Since his arrival at Lincoln in January 2012, Dr. Jennings has become extremely active in civic and community affairs. A member of the association board of the Brandywine YMCA Board of Directors, the Chester County Economic Development Council, the Oxford Main Street Board, and the Chester County Business and Industry Chamber, Dr. Jennings also holds membership on several national boards. He serves as Chairman of the Board of the Black Family Preservation Group, Inc., Member of the Board of Advisors of University of the People, and the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education.

Entering its 35th year, The Philly POPS is in its first season under the music direction of Michael Krajewski, following Peter Nero, the founding music director of The POPS. Presented by Encore Series, Inc., The Philly POPS is a founding resident company of The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, and it is an orchestra that performs a wide variety of musical genres in entertaining its audiences. The Philly POPS orchestra boasts a blend of talented musicians from the musically rich Philadelphia region and is presented in Verizon Hall at The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, 300 S. Broad Street in Philadelphia and around the Tri-State region.
